The City of Kawartha Lakes invites youth to “Jump In & Express Yourself.”

If you are between the ages of 12 to 24 years, the city wants to hear from you. The Community Safety and Well-Being Plan Advisory Committee has identified four priority areas: mental health and addictions, poverty, housing and youth, and the Advisory Committee wants to hear from the youth of the Kawartha Lakes on these priorities.

Following a sold out run of Shirley Valentine, Globus Theatre now welcomes a multi-award-winning singer to be the star for their next show. Hailed “Canada’s Queen of Cabaret” by CTV’s eTalk, Gabi Epstein is a DORA award winner and one of Canada’s leading stage/cabaret performers.

With the changing colours and cooler temperatures, now is the perfect time for a drive and game of Eye Spy, according to a media release from the City of Kawartha Lakes. From Sept. 4 to Oct. 31, spot the icon posted at one of 19 cultural locations across Kawartha Lakes and learn new details about some of the city’s oldest artefacts.

Standup comedians have always been steadfast in the necessary surroundings to ply their art. Chief among that list: four walls and a ceiling – preferably a low one – and a small, sparse performance area.

The Grove Theatre is elated to announce their opening weekend of programming was a sold-out success. Patrons, donors, volunteers, and artists alike gathered at The Grove, located on the Fenelon Fairgrounds between Aug. 5-7.
