Grove Theatre sells out on opening weekend

More events coming up still available

The Grove Theatre is elated to announce their opening weekend of programming was a sold-out success.

Patrons, donors, volunteers, and artists alike gathered at The Grove, located on the Fenelon Fairgrounds between Aug. 5-7.

This is the organization’s soft launch and their official opening will be celebrated in 2022 with their production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Musical. Last weekend featured an intimate Broadway Cabaret with Heather McGuigan and friends, along with two high-energy comedy sets by Elvira Kurt, and two sold-out improv sets by the dynamic duo of improv comedy, Colin Mochrie and Debra McGrath.

The Grove Theatre team was overjoyed to hear an outpouring of support from ticket buyers, who seemed to be equally as impressed with the natural setting as they were with the high-calibre performances from Canadian cultural icons. The Fenelon Falls Brewing Company was also on site providing refreshments for guests.

“This is a partnership that we are extremely proud of because The Fenelon Falls Brewing Co. and The Grove Theatre place the needs and wants of the local community above all else. The Grove Theatre will continue to deliver high quality entertainment to the Kawartha Lakes Region for the remainder of August, and for years to come” said Nicole Myers-Mitchelle, The Grove Theatre’s general manager.
