Woman charged with personation

On May 28 the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service was notified that a female may be impaired and operating a vehicle in the area of Regent Street in Lindsay.

Officers located the vehicle and spoke with the woman who occupied the driver seat.

During the investigation it was learned that the woman had provided a false name to police as she was currently wanted on the strength of an arrest warrant.

The woman was not in fact impaired but was arrested for other offences.

Charged with personation with intent to avoid arrest, two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking, and failing to comply with her probation order is 25-year-old Aleshia Nelson of Lindsay.

The accused attended a bail hearing on May 29.
