Woman charged with fraud

On May 22 a woman attended a downtown Lindsay business and returned merchandise for a refund.

It was later discovered by employees of the store that the merchandise returned by the woman had been stolen from another Lindsay business.

Investigators with the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service determined the identity of the woman and on May 26 she was arrested.

Charged with two counts of possession of property obtained by crime, two counts of fraud under $5000 and two counts of failing to comply with her probation order is 35-year-old Amanda Margaret Nicholson of Lindsay.

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on June 28.
