Woman charged after shoplifting

By Lindsay Advocate

Failing to pay for $40 worth of food items has resulted in charges for a 27-year-old female from Lindsay.

Store security at a Kent Street West grocery store contacted Kawartha Lakes Police Monday, after a woman was observed to conceal a number of food items in a reusable shopping bag and stroller and then leave the store without paying.

When security confronted the female, who was in company with a second female outside of the store, she removed the item from the stroller and turned it over to security along with the shopping bag.

Now, 27-year-old Harley Love of Lindsay has been charged with theft under $5000 and possession of stolen property under $5000. She will appear in the Lindsay Court of Justice on Jan. 4.
