Wanted: Environmental hero kids

Attention students — do you live in Kawartha Lakes? Do you have a passion for helping the environment?

Kawartha Lakes is looking for students ranging from Kindergarten to high school to showcase their environmental leadership by applying for the 2019 Environmental Hero Youth Award.

The Environmental Advisory Committee for Kawartha Lakes will present this award to students (groups may apply) in three age categories: Kindergarden to Grade 3, Grade 4 to 8, High school (Grade 9 – 12).

To apply, students must submit a project that they have worked on in the current school year (2018-2019) that addresses an issue related to the environment.

Winning students/groups will be presented with a special plaque recognizing their contribution to the environment, as well as a free pizza party* for their class and a native species tree* to plant on their school’s property.
