Vicky’s Values celebrates 30 years
Vicky’s Values is celebrating its 30th anniversary! Owned and operated by Women’s Resources, Vicky’s Values is vital in raising the necessary funds to provide services and support to the abused women and their children the non-profit serves in Kawartha Lakes.
“It’s the little thrift shop that grew”, states Lori Watson, Executive Director. From a trailer in 1993, to a small retail space, then dubbed Lindsay’s best kept secret, Vicky’s has expanded to over 6,000 square feet of store and processing area at 50 Mary Street West. Since moving to 50 Mary in 2005, we have made continuous improvements and implemented changes to remain current in the world of thrift.
Vicky’s is women-led, with 85 active volunteers who give their time weekly, and oftentimes daily to help sort and sell donations received from our caring and generous community.
“Vicky’s simply could not exist without our volunteers, donors and customers, and we could not be more appreciative for the continued support & investment from our community,” says Watson.
In celebration and appreciation of the anniversary, Vicky’s will be launching a new “WRummage Shoppe” with even greater savings, and hosting a Christmas in July event with special sales, prizes and treats on Tuesday, July 25. The fun starts at 10 am when the store opens.
