VCCS offers special programs for youth to find employment

By Lindsay Advocate

VCCS is offering a variety of programs for youth who are experiencing challenges finding and keeping work.

This includes students and unemployed youth under the age of 30. All of the programs offer paid pre-employment training through workshops facilitated by our staff. Participants work directly with VCCS staff to acquire a  paid job placement with a local employer.

Eligible participants will work with a team of program staff who will support them throughout the entire program.

Normally, all of its programs would be held on site at VCCS. Due to the pandemic, their current programs are offered online.

VCCS does have plans to once again bring groups back into their training rooms. In the meantime, they will consider providing the necessary equipment and one-to-one support for those individuals who wish to participate in the program but do not have technology  to complete the online portion of the program.

To date, VCCS continues to celebrate the success of youth who have completed its programs and are currently employed.
