Two impaired drivers removed from Lindsay streets

On Feb. 11 at 6 pm an employee of a Kent Street West business in Lindsay notified Kawartha Lakes Police of an impaired driver.

The employee reported seeing two patrons get into a motor vehicle and suspected that both had been consuming alcohol.

A very short time later an officer spotted the vehicle travelling on Kent Street West in Lindsay and formed the grounds that the driver was impaired.

Now, 71-year-old Gilbert Keith Hill of Fenelon Falls was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and exceeding the legal blood alcohol limit.

Hill will make his first appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice on March 15.  The vehicle operated by the accused at the time he was arrested was impounded for seven days.

On Feb. 11 at 7:45 pm an officer of Kawartha Lakes Police Service observed a vehicle travelling on Kent Street West in the area of Victoria Avenue in Lindsay.

The officer suspected that the driver may be impaired and stopped the vehicle to investigate further. The driver was found to be impaired by alcohol and arrested.

Now, 48-year-old Patrick Stephen McGreevy of Lindsay has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and exceeding the legal blood alcohol limit.

McGreevy will make his first appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice on March 15. The vehicle operated by the accused at the time of his arrest was impounded for seven days.
