Traffic stop results in arrest from outstanding warrants
A 33-year-old Lindsay man was arrested on outstanding warrants last night after he was found in a car that had been stopped by a Kawartha Lakes Police officer.
The car was stopped on Adelaide Street North last night. While the officer was investigating the driver, they noticed another man in the vehicle attempt to hide something in the car. When the officer investigated further, it was found he was attempting to conceal a small quantity of crack cocaine.
The man then gave the officer a false name but was eventually identified as 33-year-old Timmithy Jackson. Once identified it was learned that Jackson was also wanted on several outstanding warrants.
Jackson was detained in custody and will appear in the Lindsay Court of Justice for a bail hearing today on charges of failing to comply with a recognizance, obstructing a peace officer, failing to appear for court and theft under $5000.00.
