Suspect arrested for sexual assault at mall

On April 3 a 16-year-old female was shopping at a store in the Lindsay Square Mall.

While in the store, she was approached by a stranger who grabbed her in a sexual manner.

After the victim pushed her assailant away, he exited the store. The investigation resulted in a suspect being identified.

Later in the day, police received information on the suspect’s whereabouts.

Shortly before 8 pm, a 21-year-old male was arrested without incident at a Wellington Street residence.

The accused is charged with one count of Sexual Assault, Breach of a Recognizance and Breach of a Probation Order. He will appear in a Lindsay court this afternoon for a bail hearing.
