Smile cookie campaign results in sweet success for KLFS and RMH
To everyone who bought a smile cookie at a Tim Hortons restaurant in Lindsay between April 27 and May 3, the Ross memorial Hospital Foundation and Kawartha Lakes Food Source say thank you. Through your purchase, you helped to fund advancements in patient care and food security in Kawartha Lakes.
Both organizations are profoundly grateful to the owners of the six Tim Hortons restaurants in Lindsay, Nick and Meaghan Chapman, who selected Food Source and the Ross as their charity partners during the national Smile Cookie campaign.
Today, the Chapmans welcomed representatives from the two charities to Tim Hortons on Mount Hope Street in Lindsay to celebrate the sweet success of the smile cookie campaign. A total of $46,472.66 was raised thanks to patrons’ participation. Both the RMH Foundation and KLFS were presented with a cheque for $23,236.33.
“When business leaders like Nick and Meaghan embrace local causes and inspire their patrons to take part, they empower the entire community to make life better for everyone,” said Erin Coons, RMH Foundation CEO, in a press release. “Our volunteers enjoyed partnering with the Food Source team to decorate cookies and promote support for these high-priority needs.”
“The Smile Cookie campaign is such a powerful reminder of what can happen when local businesses, volunteers and community members come together for a shared purpose,” said Ashley Anderson, Executive Director of Kawartha Lakes Food Source. “We were proud to partner with the Ross team, Tim Hortons and our community to support both local healthcare and food security.
