Sentry Cardiac Care provides cardiology, respirology and general internal medicine outpatient services to the Kawartha Lakes and Lindsay area since taking over the practice of Dr. Abu Azhar Syed.

Dr. Shiyam Loganathan and Dr. Shane Williams are currently conducting in-person and telephone visits in order to provide services to meet the needs of patients. Specializing in areas such as COPD, heart arrhythmia, high blood pressure, asthma and CAD. New referrals are being accepted.

Loganathan completed his internal medicine internship and residency at Mercy Hospital and Medical Centre at the University of Illinois in Chicago and has been practicing in Canada since early 2017.

When the opportunity arose to complete a pathways training program at Campbellford and Northumberland Hills Hospitals, he jumped at the opportunity. He’s now chief of medicine at Campbellford Hospital.  With two young children at home and his wife being a physician specializing in gerontology he enjoys the small community feel that Kawartha Lakes provides.

Born and raised in Newfoundland, Dr. W. Shane Williams attended Memorial University of Newfoundland in St. John’s where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy [BSc (Pharm)], Doctor of Medicine (MD) and 3 year post-graduate fellowship program in internal medicine at Memorial as well.

He went on to complete a three-year cardiology subspecialty fellowship at McMaster University in Hamilton. He considers himself very lucky to have witnessed (and continues to witness) so many of his patients often completely turn their health around once they learn and implement the scientifically proven, optimal nutritional approach for humans – a whole foods, plant-based diet.

He’s passionate about bringing this information to as many people as possible so they too can become empowered to both safeguard and improve their health.
