Salvation Army’s kettle campaign major success thanks to community

With the Salvation Army’s Christmas kettles packed away for another year, The Salvation Army in Kawartha Lakes (with ministry units in Lindsay and Fenelon Falls) would like to extend a huge thank you to the community for a successful campaign.

With processes altered due to the pandemic, there were more kettles outdoors, and several volunteers opting out for health reasons.  Yet, the campaign was a resounding success, according to a media release.

“It’s heartwarming to witness the continued outpouring of support from the community,” says Miya Bradburn Robertson, pastor and leader of the Army’s work in Fenelon Falls.

“The trust is there, and we will continue to work hard to ensure that those who come needing help will receive it.”

The Lindsay Kettle Campaign raised $77,600 in its kettles, more than $12,000 above its goal. Within Fenelon Falls, Bobcaygeon and Coboconk, donors dropped $49,500 into the kettles, well over the $41,000 goal.

“Our team is so grateful. It has been a difficult year for many, so to see so much good – so much light. We are overjoyed,” says Lt. Susan Roffel, community ministries rirector in Lindsay. “Thank you to all our volunteers, donors and our kettle coordinator, Kim Garreffa. Everyone pitched in, making it a full team effort.”
