Radical Buffet being served up at Kawartha Art Gallery’s annual juried exhibit

Kawartha Art Gallery, Fleming College Frost Campus, Fleming College Haliburton Campus, and the City of Kawartha Lakes are co-presenting an exploration of our relationships with food through the connection of art and food.

What is the story behind our relationship with food?

From feast to famine, from foraging to fast food, as urban development encroaches on agricultural land is it the issues behind food security that an artist’s work explores?

Is it the memories of time spent in the rituals of creating and sharing in the kitchen or around the dinner table with family and friends? What is the sensuality of food and how does it transform us?

Radical Buffet, as this year’s annual juried exhibit is called, runs from Tuesday, October 8, 2024 10:00 a.m. through Friday, January 10, 2025 at 4:00 p.m.

The submission entry date is Monday September 30 (11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Gallery for artwork drop off). Results will be revealed via email on Friday October 4, 2024, by 5:00 p.m. Pick up of work not accepted will take place on Saturday October 5, 2024, between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
