Paramedics recognize community support

By Lindsay Advocate

During the COVID-19 pandemic, gestures of all sizes have been making a significant difference to those most affected. First Responders such as Paramedic Service are among the many working for us on the front line.

In recent weeks, Paramedic Services found themselves in the unique position of seeking out support from the community for life saving equipment such as masks, gloves, gowns and face shields.

The response was overwhelming as local businesses, schools, addictions services, animal hospitals and auto body repair shops all answered the call.

Kawartha Lakes Paramedic Service would like to recognize the following businesses for their donations:

  • Krown Rust Control
  • Road Runners Equipment
  • Seabrook Rentals
  • The Dollar Store
  • Trillium Lakes District School Board
  • Fenelon Falls Home Hardware
  • Durham Appliances
  • Highlands Propane
  • Pharmasave Bobcaygeon
  • Fenelon Falls Canadian Tire
  • Lindsay Animal Hospital
  • Four Counties Addictions Service
  • Kawartha Animal Hospital
  • Dulux Paint

In recent weeks, Paramedics have also experienced support in the form of food donations, beautiful window signs, organized processions and random acts of kindness throughout our community.

To do their part to give back, Kawartha Lakes Paramedic Services teamed up with Kim Magee, of Kim Magee Photography, who was doing ‘Front Porch Photos’ to raise money for Kawartha Lakes Food Source.

Paramedics that make up OPSEU Local 371 and Management have raised over $1400 to donate to the Kawartha Lakes Food Source via Kim Magee Photography.
