Paramedics in the park and barbecue
Celebrate Paramedics Week (May 24 to June 1) by attending the tenth annual Paramedics in the Park and barbecue event on May 31 from 10 am to 3 pm at Victoria Park.
This year’s theme is health, community and you. The City’s community paramedic team will be teaching more than 200 local students CPR, how and when to call 911, basic wound care, and other life-saving skills.
There will also be a barbecue in the park. For $5, you can purchase a burger, sausage, or hot dog meal. All food has been donated by Boston Pizza of Lindsay.
Local community members will be recognized for their help and participation in saving a life by the use of AED’s or CPR. Mayor Andy Letham, CAO Ron Taylor and Doctor Moran, one of the City’s base hospital physicians, will be recognizing and honouring these members at the event.
Kawartha Lakes Fire Rescue Service, Kawartha Lakes Police Service and other community partners will also be in attendance at the event.
All funds raised at the event will be donated to TEMA and the Paramedic Memorial Monument to be built in Ottawa.
