Jon Thurston.

Jon Thurston of Dunsford is a member of Canada’s National Wheelchair Curling Team and would like to introduce other wheelchair users to his sport.

Thurston has been working with the Bobcaygeon Curling Club to establish a “Give It A Go!” day that will introduce people in wheelchairs to the game of wheelchair curling.

Working with the board of the Bobcaygeon Club, the “Give It A Go!” Day will give participants an introduction to the sport as well as an opportunity to spend on-ice time with qualified instructors.

From there, if participants would like to play on a team, they will have that opportunity.

The Bobcaygeon Club is a fully accessible curling facility and the members and board are welcoming to new curlers, according to a media release. For more information contact Carl Rennick at or at 705-344-4441.
