Outdoor Kawartha: stand-up paddleboards, kayak rentals in Fenelon Falls

By Lindsay Advocate

While working full time at the Days Inn and Suites in Lindsay, general manager Candace Webster and front office manager, Stacey Brown, often chat with tourists who are looking for things to do while in Kawartha Lakes.

While the list of things for visitors to do is long, “we seemed to never be able to find any non-motorized rentals for visitors to get out on the lake,” Brown says.

That’s how Outdoor Kawartha was born, a partnership between the two women for kayak and stand-up paddleboard rentals on Cameron Lake in Fenelon Falls.

“We learned that the city had been waiting for a business to come along to do this,” Webster adds, noting there has been great local support, too, from the chamber of commerce and individual local businesses.

Expansion to Lindsay and Bobcaygeon is also possible in the future, and the two women are working with the city’s Signature Experience program in the hope to offer more next year.
