Non-worker suffers injuries at Lindsay area construction site

On March 2 12:42 am, the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service attended with Kawartha Lakes Fire Rescue Service and Kawartha Lakes Paramedic Service to a construction site on Victoria Avenue south in Lindsay for the report of an injured man.

Emergency service workers located a 20-year-old male at the bottom of an elevator shaft within the partially constructed building.

The man, who was not a worker at the construction site, was initially taken to Ross Memorial Hospital with life threatening injuries but has since been transferred to a Toronto area hospital.

The City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service maintained control of the accident scene until a representative from the Ministry of Labour arrived to investigate the occurrence.

The City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service and the Ministry of Labour are continuing to investigate this incident.
