New lessons open doors for aspiring musicians

By Lindsay Advocate

Steve McCullough has re-branded and launched his music teaching facility as Musicians Performance Centre or MPC. In addition to offering music lessons, they have just announced their introduction of lessons in performance and songwriting. This will make MPC the only teaching facility to offer this in the surrounding area, an incredible opportunity for every musician at any skill level and any age.

Performance combines the student’s skills to prepare them for a live event in house, followed by their live performance in a venue. Lessons in songwriting assist students to co-write their song ideas to a fully produced song arrangement, going through all the steps to have the song released online.

“This is a response to what my students told me they needed to learn” says Steve McCullough, owner, teacher, and engineer at MPC. “It just developed naturally over the past few years drawing on the skills and abilities I had amassed over my career as a professional musician and performer. I am thrilled to share and nurture students to stimulate their creativity in writing and performing.”

Musicians Performance Centre is dedicated to the development of artists using every available tool. They aim to help artists improve their skills with music lessons, nurture their confidence in presentation and choreography with lessons in performance, and encourage their creativity and open their ears with songwriting.

Musicians Performance Centre is supported by the Eastern Ontario Development Program (EODP) which advances economic development in rural eastern Ontario. Through EODP, the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev  Ontario) is collaborating with Kawartha Lakes Community Futures Development Corporation (KLCFDC) to promote the growth of new and existing businesses in rural communities.
