McHappy Day is back again this year on Wednesday May 6. On this day, a portion of proceeds from all menu ideas goes to supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities to help families with sick children stay together near hospital care.

“It is always an incredible day of fun,” said Tanvi Bhatt, co-owner of the two McDonald’s in Lindsay and Beaverton.  “We will have local community leaders, police, fire services, and representatives from local businesses volunteering in our restaurants. At our Kent Street restaurant, we will once again host the LDCC Chamber band on our patio, along with other live acts.”

Guests can also purchase McDonald’s character socks which come in one of four limited designs, while supplies last. All proceeds from these sales goes directly to RMH. “Additionally, guests can make a donation directly and add their name to the “wall of hearts” in each of our restaurants,” said Bhatt.

Customers are also encouraged to round up their order to the nearest dollar. All round ups are donated directly to RMHC.

Last year more than $27,000 was raised on McHappy Day in Lindsay and Beaverton. “Our goal every year is to significantly surpass the previous year’s donations, and we have been successful in doing so each year,” said Bhatt.

The funds raised on McHappy Day enable essential support and resources for families with critically sick and injured children by providing accommodation, meals, and mental and health wellness programs so they can stay together and close to life-saving medical care.

Last year, RMH across Canada supported more than 32,000 families from 2,900 communities.
