Man and woman charged after stolen goods pawned
A man and woman from Lindsay have both been charged after pawning items that had been stolen in early November from a Kent Street West store.
On Nov. 14 Kawartha Lakes Police were contacted by security personnel of a Kent Street West store after they reviewed video surveillance which showed a man and woman stealing some power tools.
Within hours of the theft, the couple visited a downtown Lindsay buy and sell store and traded the items for cash. Police were able to identify the couple and arrested them yesterday.
Now, 21-year-old Jacob Bryans and 19-year-old Chelsea Gawley, both of Lindsay, have been charged with theft under $5,000, possession of stolen property under $5,000 and possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000.
They will appear in the Lindsay Court of Justice Jan. 4.
