Man suffers injuries: assaulted at his residence

On Sunday July 1 at approximately 7:15 pm a man was standing outside of his residence when he was approached by another man walking past the property.

The two men had a short conversation, which led to the resident of the property being assaulted by the other man.

Kawartha Lakes Paramedic Service attended and transported the victim to hospital.

After speaking with witnesses, officers with the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service identified the man responsible for the assault and located him a short distance away from where the incident occurred.

The man was arrested and has been charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm.

The accused, 57-year-old Anthony Fischer of Lindsay was held in custody to attend a bail hearing on Monday July 2.
