Man arrested in stabbing incident near downtown Lindsay

On Saturday April 15 at 2:30 am Kawartha Lakes Police responded to the area of York Street South and Russell Street West for a reported stabbing.

Upon arrival officers learned that a physical altercation had occurred between two males.

During the altercation a third male approached, stabbing one of two males in the back before fleeing the area.

Officers searched the area, located and arrested the suspect a short distance away. During a search officers recovered a knife involved in the incident.

The victim was transported to the Ross Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

A 22-year-old Lindsay man is charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Assault cause bodily harm

The male has been held in custody for a bail hearing.
