Man arrested for several weapons offences
On June 24 a man attended an apartment complex on Sussex Street south in Lindsay and became involved in a loud argument with the occupants of a vehicle.
An emergency telephone call was made to the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service when the man was seen to be holding a large kitchen knife in his hand.
When officers arrived in the area they observed the man still causing a disturbance and took him into custody.
Officers discovered that the man was found to have another edged-weapon concealed in his clothing after he was arrested.
Charged with causing a disturbance, two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and two counts of carrying a concealed weapon is 50-year-old Dean Gonsalves of Lindsay.
The accused was held in custody to attend a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice on June 25.
