Man accused of assault and threatening to kill his family

On April 29 at 6:25 am the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service was called to attend a Lindsay residence after an adult male occupant threatened to kill his adult brother and parents, who were also in the home.

During an emergency 911 call made to police from the residence, it was also alleged that someone inside the home was armed with a weapon.

The City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service arrived at the home and were successful in de-escalating the situation.

The investigating officers determined that no weapons had been involved in this incident, however one occupant of the home had been assaulted.

An adult male resident of the home was arrested without incident and has been charged with three counts of uttering a threat to cause bodily harm, one count of assault and one count of threatening to damage property.

The male was held in custody to attend a bail hearing on April 29.

His name is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victims of this incident.
