Local company launches advanced laboratory
PRI Engineering, a local company specialized in providing geotechnical services for construction, civil engineering and solar projects, recently announced the launch of an advanced laboratory for materials and performance testing.
The laboratory is currently undergoing the rigorous certification process set by the Canadian Council of Independent Laboratories (CCIL) and when complete it will perform in-house testing of soil and concrete samples.
The laboratory has been certified for concrete testing and is expected to be successfully certified in soils testing over the coming month. Once officially validated, the laboratory will be the first of its kind in the Kawartha Lakes and is well-situated to deliver specialized testing for local projects.
According to Arash Yazdani, director of engineering services for PRI Engineering, “as the first of its kind in the area, local companies will now be able to access high-end testing in a timely fashion without facing the high costs of laboratories in larger metropolises.”
“Our team of experienced engineers and technicians are committed to providing quality materials testing to the Kawartha Lakes region,” says Vikki Gledhill, geotechnical engineer and laboratory manager, who is leading the efforts to certify the laboratory. “We have worked hard to the meet the standards set by CCIL and expect to announce our successful certification shortly.”
Replete with the latest technology and equipment, the laboratory will offer testing services for soil and concrete, with testing methods that range from routine to highly specialized.
