Local community leader offers leadership course by Zoom

Local community leader Mike Perry is offering an internet-based course on how to lead more effectively in the face of unique challenges.
A lawyer and social worker by profession, Mike Perry is executive director of the City of Kawartha Lakes Family Health Team.
Perry is a sought-after advisor on leadership and governance having done work with family health teams across Ontario, the Council of Canadians, and Yale University. He has spoken internationally and is an award-winning teacher and communicator.
In a press release, Perry says that increasingly organizations and businesses are encountering challenging issues that have not arisen before.
“There is no playbook. So often we are called upon to lead in solving unique problems with few resources and even less time. While many of us think heroes are needed, quite the opposite is true. We can all learn to lead in tackling new problems with maximum impact in unprecedented times.”
The workshop he is offering is drawn from Harvard’s “Emerging Leaders” program. An expected outcome is to be able to access the latest, concrete expert thinking on communication, decision-making and leadership, to apply directly in your own work.
As well, course participants will be able to assess their own leadership practice and learn how to lead to maximize results in the face of unique challenges.
