Lindsay man arrested for two recent thefts

A Lindsay man has been arrested for two separate thefts which were reported to Kawartha Lakes Police Service earlier this month.

On Jan. 4 police received the report of a theft of merchandise from a Lindsay store. The male responsible fled from the business prior to the arrival of police.

On Jan. 15 police were alerted to the theft of a cell phone from a Lindsay gym. Investigating officers identified the male as responsible for both incidents and yesterday 35-year-old Raymond Albert Smoke of Lindsay was arrested.

The male was charged with two counts of theft under $5000, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime, and two counts of failing to comply with the conditions of a probation order. He will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Feb. 22.
