Library launches new Kanopy streaming video service
Starting early February, the Kawartha Lakes Public Library is adding a new streaming service to our Digital Library.
In addition to the Library’s currently streaming service, Hoopla, anyone with a library card can now enjoy over 30,000 free videos from Kanopy. Kanopy is committed to streaming high-quality films to inspire, educate and entertain people. Kanopy’s unique selection offers something for everyone, from award-winning independent movies to important and timely documentaries, to foreign films, to children’s programming. As well, Kanopy includes thousands of titles from the Great Courses series.
“We think our digital library users will really enjoy Kanopy and how easy it is to use,” says Shawnee Hayward, library specialist for reference. “The content is truly one of a kind, from many titles in the Criterion Collection to award winning documentaries there is something for everyone.”
Many of Kanopy’s videos are not available on any other streaming video platform, and the experience is easy-to-use and completely advertisement free.
Kanopy is available on your computer and with the Kanopy app on iOS and Android along with all major streaming devices, including Roku, Apple TV, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Samsung Smart TV.
