Kawartha Lakes Police Service investigating shooting incident

Kawartha Lakes Police Service are investigating a shooting incident that occurred in Lindsay in the early morning of Dec. 4.

On Wednesday Dec. 4, 2024 at approximately 3:10 a.m. Kawartha Lakes Police Service responded to a report of gunfire in the area of William Street and Bond Street in Lindsay.

Police received multiple 911 calls indicating that 5-6 shots had been fired and a white SUV had been observed speeding away from the scene. The vehicle was last observed south bound on William Street; however, no further vehicle description was obtained.

Police checked the area and ensured that no one had been injured as a result of the incident. There is currently no threat to the public and police believe this is a targeted incident. It is early in the investigation; police are requesting people in the area to check video surveillance. If anyone witnessed a white SUV travelling at a high rate of speed, please also check dash cam video.
