Kawartha Lakes dairy farmers sought for focus group

By Lindsay Advocate

Are you a dairy farmer in the City of Kawartha Lakes? Do you have two hours to participate in a focus group? Kawartha Conservation would love to hear from you.

“We are looking for dairy farmers within Kawartha Lakes who would like to talk about environmental stewardship and protection,” explains Stewardship Outreach Technician Emily Johnston.

“The focus groups and subsequent discussion will help inform specific stewardship needs within the dairy farm sector, and how we can help dairy farmers achieve their stewardship goals.”

The focus groups will take place at the Woodville/Eldon Community Centre at 105 Union Street in Woodville on March 29 from 9-11 a.m. and again from 1-3 p.m.

“The information we collect during the focus group sessions will help to develop future programs and services to meet the specific needs of the dairy farming community in Kawartha Lakes,” says Johnston.

Dairy farm participants interested in attending one of the two hour focus groups can contact Johnston by phone at (705) 328-2271 ext. 242 or by email at .

“We know that different farm operation types can have different stewardship needs and goals, so these focus groups will allow us to work with and solicit feedback specifically from the dairy farm sector and develop programs and services that meet their specific needs.”
