Junior Achievement announces five new local inductees into business hall of fame

Junior Achievement of Northern and Eastern Ontario (JA-NEO) recently named its third annual JA Business Hall of Fame (BHF), recognizing exceptional business leaders in Kawartha Lakes.

The 2025 inductees are Carly, Debbie, and Jay Poole – Buckeye Marine, Tim Wisener – The Grove Theatre, Gord Ferguson – Northern Casket, The Torrey Family – Torrey Family Farm, and Sherry Peel – Bigley Shoes and Clothing.

According to a media release, these inductees demonstrate vision, leadership, and commitment to excellence in business, serving as inspiring role models for students.

President and CEO, John McNutt, announced the 2025 inductees from Launch Kawartha in downtown Lindsay. The formal induction ceremony will take place on May 8 at Mackey Celebrations in Lindsay. Early bird tickets are available at ja-neo.org.

The BHF event supports JA-NEO by recruiting volunteers, investors, and partners, helping to deliver programs at no cost to students or schools. Proceeds help meet the demand for financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship programs, ensuring the success of JA students.

Since 1919, JA has provided hands-on learning in financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship, supported by nearly half a million corporate volunteers, reaching 10 million young people annually.
