Impaired driver sends one to hospital in ATV collision
Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered an impaired driving investigation following an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) collision on Mount Horeb Road, Manvers Township.
On Friday, April 03, 2026, at approximately 4:55 pm, officers responded to a single ATV collision around Mount Horeb Road and Old Mill Road. Officers attended and confirmed that a driver and passenger were the only injured because of the collision. A 33-year-old, male, from Emily Township was transported to a Toronto area trauma center with life altering injuries. The driver was transported to local area hospital with non-life altering injuries. Neither the driver nor passenger were wearing helmets at the time of the collision.
Jeremy Windrem, 37-year-old of Peterborough was charged with:
- Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
- Operation while Impaired – Alcohol or drug
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
