The Kinsmen Club of Lindsay has generously donated $50,000 in support of the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes (HSKL) for much needed upgrades to the shelter as well as their ongoing efforts to provide essential medical care, safe temporary housing, and socialization to the abundance of animals in need throughout the Kawartha Lakes Region while awaiting their permanent homes.

The Kinsmen Club of Lindsay has a long history of supporting local causes, and their incredible donation will play a vital role in furthering HSKL’s mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals. With the number of animals coming into HSKL’s care rising, this contribution will help meet the increased needs of medications, veterinary care, and daily food costs as well as help facilitate upgrades to their medical room.

“We are deeply grateful to the Kinsmen Club of Lindsay for their continued generosity and unwavering commitment to animal welfare,” said Emily Harris, executive director of the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes. “This donation will have a profound impact on the lives of countless animals and enable us to continue our work in making Kawartha Lakes a more compassionate community for both animals and people.”

The support from the Kinsmen Club will help the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes address immediate needs and ensure they can continue to offer the highest standard of care to animals awaiting their forever homes.

“The Kinsmen Club came to understand HSKL’s goal to ensure that every animal in the City of Kawartha Lakes has a good quality of life free from the fear of abuse, neglect, and ignorance,” said Brad Fraser, Kinsmen Club of Lindsay president. “In an environment where there is much uncertainty and stress in the lives of those in our region, countless numbers of animals have been rescued, provided medical attention and care and re-homed thanks to the efforts of their devoted team. The Kinsmen Club recognizes the positive impact HSKL has in our
