Human remains found in Mariposa Township
Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating after human remains were located in Mariposa Township.
On Oct. 24, just after 6 p.m., officers responded to a report of human remains located on The Glen Road in Mariposa Township.
The Glen Road, between Mcindoos Cemetery Road and County Road 46, remains closed for the police investigation. There is no immediate threat to the general public. More details will be released when available.
The investigation is being conducted by the City of Kawartha Lakes Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, and with assistance from the Durham Regional Police Service and the Office of the Chief Coroner.
