Graffiti artist turns herself into police

Last weekend, Kawartha Lakes Police were contacted after a person walking in the area of the Old Mill park observed some areas of the old mill that had been spray painted with various messages.

The messages included names and initials similar to “Z&K,” “K + Z” surrounded by a large heart and “Carson” and “Zain.”

While most were painted red, some were also painted in gold and pink. Police recovered an empty spray paint can at the scene that they believe helped them in their search.

Yesterday, a 19-year-old female from Lindsay turned herself into police.

Zainab Mian was charged with mischief under $5000.00.

She was released from custody and will appear in the Lindsay, Court of Justice on Dec. 14.
