Globus Theatre is bringing trivia night to your living room

With the extended lockdown dampening spirits, many could certainly use some laughs. Look no further than Globus Theatre, says a media release.

Over their 17 seasons, Globus Theatre the LAB has hosted numerous trivia nights, and now are bringing the fun online. Based on British comedy quiz shows which feature a celebrity panel, Globus will be livestreaming a new online show called The Great Globus Trivia Comedy Quiz Happy (half) Hour!

As they play along with the quiz, audiences will get the opportunity to see behind the curtain of our theatres and meet some of their favourite summer theatre artists including Jennine Profeta, Chris Gibbs, Kerry Griffin, Norm Foster, Ashley Comeau, Viviana Zarillo and Dave Pearce. With a total of three episodes, Globus Theatre has joined forces (and created strong rivalries) with artistic teams and performers from Lighthouse Festival Theatre in Port Dover, The Foster Festival in St. Catharines, and Upper Canada Playhouse in Morrisburg.

Tune into this “silly and hilarious trivia game show” as it’s broadcast live on Facebook and YouTube every Thursday night at 9 pm starting April 22. Each episode features some of your favourite Globus Theatre actors and comedians, along with appearances from a few special guests.

“Over the last year all theatres have struggled, but a wonderful thing happened in that we started to check in with each other and make sure everyone was alright. We have formed fantastic friendships with summer theatres from all over Ontario and we thought ‘what better way to celebrate this love-fest than by pitting our theatres head-to-head in a battle for trivia supremacy?’ The result is a super fun evening of laughter that we hope you enjoy,” says artistic director Sarah Quick.
