Globus Theatre announces auditions for annual pantomime

By Lindsay Advocate

Pantomimes are popular events at Globus Theatre.

Globus Theatre is holding auditions for Aladdin, its 18th annual pantomime, on Sunday October 6, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The theatre is calling for all talented (or purely enthusiastic) young performers who would like to join this exciting production.

Whether they know the perfect princess, or fancy themselves as a helpful genie or bumbling detective, Globus Theatre welcomes young thespians to come and be a part of this magical experience. This is an opportunity for kids aged 6 and up to work alongside professional actors in a busy production and learn each step of taking the page to the stage. Anybody of any age wishing to work backstage, paint scenery, build sets, find props, sew costumes, do make-up or take the stage are also encouraged to join.

Audition times are as follows on Sunday October 6:

Ages 6-9: 2:00 p.m.

Ages 10-13: 3:00 p.m.

Ages 14+: 4:00 p.m.

Adults: 5:00 p.m.

Those auditioning for performance roles are asked to prepare a one-minute monologue and be prepared to read from the script. School of Dramatic Arts students will be given priority when auditioning, but all that sign up and give it a go will be considered for parts. Roles may be double cast and performances will be during the days for schools as well as in the evenings for the general public.

Register for an audition timeslot on Sunday October 6 by calling 705-738-2037 or emailing the theatre’s artistic director at
