Fatality on farm north of Downeyville

Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a death that occurred on a private property north of Downeyville last evening.

On October 5, 2023 shortly before 6:30 p.m. officers along with EMS were called to a farm off of Sturgeon Road for an accident involving a tractor which had rolled onto someone. A 99 year-old male of Emily Township who had been working on the tractor at the time of the incident, was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

OPP Technical Collision Investigators and collision reconstructionists were brought in to investigate and document the scene.
