Fatal car accident near Oakwood involving child

Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal collision in Oakwood.

On June 17, at approximately 11:34 am, officers responded, alongside with Kawartha Lakes Fire and EMS, to a single vehicle collision involving a child in Oakwood.

One injured child was transported to hospital where they were pronounced deceased a short time later.

The highway is currently closed at the intersection of Bruce Street and Eldon Road as the investigation is ongoing and the public is asked to avoid the area.

Dangerous drivers can be reported to OPP by calling 1-888-310-1122 or 9-1-1 in an emergency.

    Too bad when you report them nothing is done. We have reported the same gentleman 10 times in Pleasant Point and he just keeps having close calls nearly missing children on a few occasions
