Drug search warrant nets cash and cocaine

A Lindsay man and woman are in custody on drug-related charges after members of the Kawartha Lakes Police drug enforcement unit executed a search warrant at a Sussex Street South residence in Lindsay last night.
Yesterday evening police entered a Sussex Street South apartment using a controlled drugs and substances search warrant. The warrant was executed as part of an ongoing investigation into the trafficking of cocaine. The two accused were located in the apartment along with over $3,000 in cash and cocaine. Police also located three knives and a baton.
44-year-old Terri Hockley and 46-year-old Mark Metherel have been charged with possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance (cannabis), possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000 and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Metherel was also charged with failing to comply with a recognizance and failing to comply with a probation order. Both will appear in the Lindsay Court of Justice on Oct. 19 for a bail hearing.
