Donation for Fenelon Falls Senior Centre from 100 Women Who Care

By Lindsay Advocate

The Fenelon Falls Senior Citizens’ Club was selected by the 100 Women Who Care Kawartha Lakes as the recipient of their first charitable donation of the year. This donation of nearly $15,000 50 was received by members of the club’s executive earlier this month.

The funds will be used to enhance and improve the hall facilities at the centre at 58 Murray Street, to better meet the demands and expectations of hall rentals. The audio/video equipment will be replaced and upgraded along with the wifi capabilities. The improvements will enhance the over-all event experience in the venue. Included in the improvements will be the replacement and addition of some furniture and equipment.

“I just rented the hall last year for a birthday party and Easter Dinner for my family. The price was reasonable. The kitchen was very clean with lots of room to work in. There are two ovens, which was great for keeping everything warm until dinner was served, as well as two big fridges. I have rented this venue a few times in the past for other celebrations and I am sure I will be using it again in the future. Don’t let the name fool you into thinking this place is only for seniors,” says Joann Patterson.

Currently, the hall rental facility provides complete accessibility, ample parking, a fully stocked kitchen, and filtered circulated air. It is bright, clean, and available for activities of all kinds, workshops, shows, markets, conferences, and celebrations to meet the community’s needs.
