Doctor appreciation week in Kawartha Lakes in early June
Kawartha Lakes Health Care Initiative (KLHCI) is asking the community to help celebrate the tenth annual Family Doctor Appreciation Week, being held June 3 – 7.
The week will honour the many wonderful family doctors practicing in the City of Kawartha Lakes. Family doctors are essential to the health and vitality of our community, says a press release, “and we hope that all citizens will take the time to extend their gratitude for the day-to-day and lifelong commitments these doctors make.”
Local businesses are encouraged to show their support throughout the week by displaying words of thanks and encouragement to family doctors on their organization’s signage. Simple acknowledgement of the week, such as “Family Doctor Appreciation Week, June 3 – 7” or other special words of thanks such as “Thank You to our Family Doctors” are some suggestions being offered by KLHCI.
“We also encourage all City of Kawartha Lakes citizens to show their support by thanking their family doctor for the professional health care they provide. ”
KLHCI will be sending letters of appreciation to all family doctors and has already recognized two family doctors with gift certificates for a weekend get-away for two at any Ontario Inns and Spas. Thank you to Garry’s Garden Gallery of Lindsay for donating plants for KLHCI to also provide to all family doctors as a gift of appreciation.
KLHCI is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to recruit and retain family doctors for the City of Kawartha Lakes. KLHCI is directed through the work of a volunteer Board of Directors that is actively engaged in attracting new Board members from the community.
Should you wish to support its efforts of ongoing recruitment and retention of family doctors in this manner, or through a financial donation, contact Cindy Snider, Recruitment & Retention Coordinator at 705-328-6098 or , or visit the KLHCI website at www.kawarthalakesdoctors.org.
