Courtice men arrested for shoplifting in Lindsay
Two Courtice-area men were arrested yesterday evening after a security officer at a Kent Street West store observed them leaving the store without paying for items.
When the men were confronted by security one of them fled on foot. Officers located the man who had fled a short distance away. This man also falsely identified himself to police, and it was later learned that he was wanted by Durham Regional Police.
26-year-old Zachary Lintner of Courtice was charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of stolen property under $5,000. He was released from custody and will appear in the Lindsay Court of Justice on Nov. 23.
The second man, 27-year-old Daniel Pestill, also of Courtice, was detained in custody on charges of obstructing a peace officer. He will appear for a bail hearing at the Lindsay Court of Justice today.
