Council supports Women’s Changemakers STEAM event

Marlene Morrison-Nicholls and Vanessa Doucet-Roche provided an overview of the Women’s Changemakers Fund and the Women’s Changemakers STEAM Event that will be held at Ampere on Wednesday, March 25. The event will provide a hands-on experience for 100 girls and non-binary high school students in grades 10 to 12 with a focus on science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM). The event will also feature guest speakers and panelists from women in STEAM, interactive technology, art stations and an opportunity to inspire the 100 participants to engage in the world of STEAM. They asked council to consider supporting the event.

Council approved one-time funding of $2,500 for this event.
