Community Care accredited with exemplary standing

The Community Care Health & Care Network has achieved the best standing possible in a peer review accreditation process conducted by Accreditation Canada.
“Exemplary Standing is the highest of three classifications that an organization can receive,” said Barb Mildon, Chief Executive Officer for Community Care. “This meaningful achievement validates the excellence demonstrated by our staff and volunteers as they lead and deliver our programs and services.”
Since 1985, Community Care has been dedicated to improving the health and well being of the residents of the City of Kawartha Lakes. The organization provides a wide range of health, community support and hospice services for individuals and families of all ages.
Strengths identified by the Accreditation Canada Surveyors included a motivated and caring staff and volunteer corps, strong partnerships with other service providers in the community, a commitment to quality improvement, leadership and governance and the development of a culture of safety, creativity and innovation.
Community Care has been successfully accredited by Accreditation Canada since 2005.
“Successful accreditation means that clients served by Community Care can be assured that the organization is constantly striving to provide the best care and support possible. These positive results of our February 2019 assessment reflect a true team effort by all members of Community Care,” said the organization’s Accreditation Co-Leads Margot Fitzpatrick, Director of Clinical Services and Joan Skelton, Director of Community Support Services.
“This outstanding success demonstrates the caring and dedication by staff and volunteers each and every day. On behalf of the Board, I extend congratulations, appreciation and thanks to all for this meaningful recognition,” said Kerry Clifford, Chair of the Board of Directors.
