Classics on Kent cruises back into downtown Lindsay July 19
Classics on Kent will be taking over downtown Lindsay this year on Sunday, July 19. Every July, Kent Street is taken over by hundreds of cars, unique vendors and has a family fun zone.
“When Wards Lawyers took over Classics on Kent from the Lindsay Downtown BIA in 2025, we didn’t take that responsibility lightly — this event means a lot to the community, and we wanted to make sure it stayed in good hands,” said Melissa Wemyss, CEO of Wards Lawyers and lead organizer.
Through the event, Wards Lawyers is directly supporting Kawartha Lakes Food Source. “Food insecurity is a real issue here in Kawartha Lakes, and we wanted this year’s event to make a real difference for local families — so we built giving right into the day, from the fill-a-truck drive to the registration donations to the 50/50 draw,” said Wemyss, as well $5 from every car registration goes right to Food Source.
A new door prize draw system is in place for participants this year. Previously, papers tickets would be given out for the draw; this year that number will be the same as the car’s dash card number.
Wemyss said that without the support of sponsors, the event wouldn’t be as successful as it is. “We’ve built a great organizing committee made up of the BIA’s executive director along with representatives from each of our lead sponsors, and that collaboration has really been the backbone of making the event a success. Everyone brings something different to the table, and it’s been a rewarding process to grow the event together while keeping true to what made it special in the first place.”
Wemyss has found that Classics on Kent is an event for everyone to enjoy and that’s what makes it appealing to so many. “It’s the community spirit — classic cars, downtown shops open, kids running around the family zone. It just feels like Lindsay at its best, and we’re proud to help keep that going.”
Classics on Kent will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 19. Pre-registration is open until July 15 for $15, classic car owners can also register their car day of for $20.
