Celebrating local legacy, investing in the future: Kawartha Lakes Business Hall of Fame Returns

By Lindsay Advocate

Sarah Quick and James Barrett, owners of Globus Theatre, are one of the inductees at this year's ceremony.

Kawartha Lakes is once again preparing to celebrate the remarkable individuals and families who have shaped its business landscape, as the City of Kawartha Lakes Business Hall of Fame returns this season.

This signature event is more than an evening of recognition; it is a powerful moment where community pride meets purpose.

“The Business Hall of Fame is about honouring the legacy of those who built this community, while actively investing in the next generation who will carry it forward,” said John McNutt, president and CEO, Junior Achievement of Northern and Eastern Ontario.

While the evening will spotlight inspiring inductees whose leadership and vision have left a lasting impact, the true power of this event lies in what it fuels beyond the stage.

Proceeds from the Business Hall of Fame directly support youth programming delivered by Junior Achievement of Northern and Eastern Ontario, equipping young people across the region with the tools they need to succeed. Through programs focused on entrepreneurship, work readiness, and financial literacy. Students gain real-world skills, confidence, and clarity about their future. This is not just an event; it is a bridge between today’s leaders and tomorrow’s changemakers. In communities like Kawartha Lakes, opportunity is built through connection. The Business Hall of Fame creates a unique space where business leaders, families, and community members come together; investors directly contribute to youth success; and stories of resilience and achievement inspire the next generation.

Every ticket purchased and every investment made helps bring these programs into classrooms, ensuring young people are not just dreaming about their future but actively preparing for it.

The Business Hall of Fame ceremony to take place on May 7, at 5:00 p.m. at Celebrations Lindsay. Tickets are $125 and are now available. For more information go to www.ja-neo.org/bhf-1.
